Phillack Church (St Felicitas and St Piala)

Phillack Church is one of the oldest sites of continuous Christian worship in Cornwall. In the 19th century, the discovery of a stone bearing the Chi Rho insignia (the anicent symbol for Christ) during a rebuilding of the nave and chancel suggested that Christians have met on this site since the 4th century. The present Grade II listed building, dedicated to St Felicitas and St Piala, was remodelled extensively in the 1850s, but the tower originates from the 14th century. The church has capacity for 160 people.
